This electric guitar is worth €2,500,000 (US $3,598,002) because it’s made of pure cocaine. A 30-something guy flew from Costa Rica to Fiumicino airport in Rome with a guitar (a black Squier Strat, with the label still on the scratch plate) and 10 thermos flasks in his luggage.

The custom officials spotted white powder leaking out of the guitar that was tested positive for cocaine. Even the thermos flasks contained cocaine in solution.

The so-called music enthusiast was carrying a total of 3 kg of pure cocaine, having a market value of more than 2.5 million Euros.

Cocaine and heroin addicts on a Government treatment programme are being given extra drugs as a reward for good behaviour, it is reported.

The BBC said a survey of almost 200 clinics in England by the National Treatment Agency (NTA), which runs the £500m-a-year treatment scheme, found users were being offered extra heroin substitute methadone or anti-depressants for clean urine samples.

Since March 2007 the cocaine supply in the United States has decreased dramatically. Some say Lindsay Lohan and Britney have snorted up most of the supply but either way take a look at some of the statistics release recently by the Executive Policy & Strategic Planning Staff (ie DEA).

- From January through June 2007, the average price per pure gram of all domestic cocaine purchases increased 24 per cent, from $95.89 to $118.70, while purity fell 11 per cent, from 67 per cent to 59 per cent.

- From January through June 2007, the retail (involving amounts up to ten grams) price per pure gram of cocaine increased 15 per cent, from $145.42 to $166.90.

- From January through June 2007, the mid-level wholesale (involving amounts between one and ten ounces) price per pure gram of cocaine increased 33 per cent, from $53.09 to $70.39.

- From January through June 2007, the wholesale (involving amounts of one kilogram or more) price per pure gram of cocaine increased 11 per cent, from $20.85 to $23.04.

The Netherlands are banning the sale of 'magic mushrooms' after a French woman died from jumping off a building after taking them." Calls for a re-evaluation of the drug grew after a 17-year-old French girl jumped from a building after eating magic mushrooms during a school trip to Amsterdam in March.

Other incidents involving the drug have included an Icelandic tourist jumping from a balcony and breaking both legs and a Danish tourist driving his car wildly through a camping ground, narrowly missing sleeping campers.

"It's a shame, the media really blew this up into a big issue," said Chloe Collette, owner of the FullMoon shop, which sells magic mushrooms in Amsterdam.
