Since the early days of the internet, the most commonly used link color has been blue. This also applies for Google Adsense, the default blue is still the most popular. People equate links to the blue color.

If like myself you don't like the blue color, use a color that fits well with your website. It is worth remembering that the more subtle your adsense units are, the more likely you are to get clicks. Users will avoid adsense units that look unusual, are bright and use offensive colors.
